Great read!Very well written, loved the plot twists and going back and forth in the time line。 You can easily imagine this in a movie format。

The book had a very good start and was all well and good for the first one third。 Then it started going downhill in a difficult to redeem way。 We get a lot of Tate initially and then it’s all about Maddy and Tate becomes a minor character。 So why all the hazzle 🤷‍♀️ The writing was clunky with so much of tell。 Couldn’t wait to close it。

Started off well and then just seemed a bit ridiculous。 I know reading is about escapism but I had to suspend disbelief too much to think all of the twists and turns could actually work。

Thank you Edelweiss for the ARC! The Woman on the Ledge: A Novel by Ruth Mancini is a fast paced thriller。 When Tate, a young woman meets up with an old friend at a high school reunion, her life takes a sudden turn。 All she believed to be true about her life up until that point is brought into question and she decides that she can't keep running forever。 She needs to face her fears and make the man who has ruined her life pay for what he did to her as a young teen。 When she meets up with Maddy, Thank you Edelweiss for the ARC! This book is a masterpiece to the thriller genre! An insanely twisted, clever tale starring one of the most brilliant MCs that I will not be forgetting any time soon。 I felt like I was trying to find my way out of a maze but kept getting turned around and having to start all over again。 This book was not at all what I was expecting。 It was so much more and just plain brilliant! This was my first read by Mancini and it will definitely not be my last。 I highly recommend!Thank you to the author, Ha This book is a masterpiece to the thriller genre! Well! Where do I even start with this one? I started out believing I knew exactly what was going on, turns out I had completely no idea。 There are books with twists and turns and then there are books that give you whiplash and this one left me with a definite sore neck but in a very good way。 I think what I loved so much about this book is that the characters were so well written, I was so invested in all of them。 There were a few I didn’t like much but that’s the point I think。 I recommend goin Well! I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller which initially seemed to be fairly straightforward however like the death in the book appearances can be deceptive。When the author started to seemingly repeat the initial events I thought that this may be a bit of a chore but was quickly relieved of this notion when it became clear that this was an entirely different set of circumstances。 Throw in a hefty bit of back story for more than one character and this take becomes even more intriguing。 Definitely a boo I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller which initially seemed to be fairly straightforward however like the death in the book appearances can be deceptive。When the author started to seemingly repeat the initial events I thought that this may be a bit of a chore but was quickly relieved of this notion when it became clear that this was an entirely different set of circumstances。 Throw in a hefty bit of back story for more than one character and this take becomes even more intriguing。 Definitely a book worth reading as you will no see where this is going for a good while and even when you do it's still an excellent tale。Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for my advance review copy。 。。。more

What if you were accused of killing someone you tried to save? That’s the dilemma that Tate Kinsella faces in The Woman on the Ledge, a nail-biting psychological thriller that will leave you breathless。 Tate is a struggling actress who works as a temp at a French bank。 One night, she meets a woman named Helen on the roof terrace of the bank, who is about to jump to her death。 Tate manages to talk her down, but the next day, she finds out that Helen has fallen from the same terrace and died。 To ma What if you were accused of killing someone you tried to save? That’s the dilemma that Tate Kinsella faces in The Woman on the Ledge, a nail-biting psychological thriller that will leave you breathless。 Tate is a struggling actress who works as a temp at a French bank。 One night, she meets a woman named Helen on the roof terrace of the bank, who is about to jump to her death。 Tate manages to talk her down, but the next day, she finds out that Helen has fallen from the same terrace and died。 To make matters worse, Tate is arrested for her murder and no one believes her story。The Woman on the Ledge is a twisty and engrossing read that will keep you on the edge of your seat。 The author, Ruth Mancini, is a criminal lawyer who uses her expertise to create a realistic and compelling legal drama。 The police interviews, the legal statements, the lawyer’s interactions…are all written with authenticity and detail, enriching the complexity and realism of the story。But the book is not just a legal thriller。 It is also a story of obsession, justice and revenge, love and sacrifice (just not the “love” you are thinking)。 The book is skillfully plotted, and unexpected developments emerge at every turn。 As the plot unfolds, you will discover that nothing is as it seems and that everything is connected in this book。The only downside of this book is that it loses some of its momentum and suspense in the second half。 The pace slows down and some parts of the story are repetitive。 There are also some plot holes and unanswered questions that leave you unsatisfied。 However, these flaws do not overshadow the overall quality and enjoyment of the book。If you are looking for a book that will challenge your assumptions, test your deductive reasoning skills and throw you off with red herrings, then The Woman on the Ledge is the book for you。 It is a thrilling and emotional ride that you won’t forget。 📚 。。。more

I think Maddy’s actions carried too much “weight” to be dealt the way it did so “lightly” per say in the book。 I had a hard time getting her “sacrifice”, as opposed to wanting to spend whatever time she had left with her loved ones。 We are told she is in a lot of pain due to her illness 。 But then she spends her last days plotting this whole intricate plan , which took a lot of planning and energy , as opposed to just being with her loved ones。 Her daughter didn’t even know she was ill。 What if in the future, her daughter found out she was ill? Also, knowing that her family would either think she jumped or was pushed 。。 Is hurtful already as it is losing a loved one, but letting them think she was gone due to a “murder” or possibly “suicide” is different than an illness。 I found the way it was all executed in the book implausible。I know it’s fiction and I suspend my disbelief a lot when reading but on this one was too much。 At the end of the book I was left feeling underwhelmed and grim。 。。。more

Annabel Scholey is excellent as the voice actor for Tate on the audiobook。 What I loved most about this one was that it took a completely different direction than what I was anticipating。 It’s not easy to completely shock me with story twists, but this story did。 Another downside to reading a lot of thrillers is they aren’t memorable。 This one is。 It’s fast paced and all consuming with an intricate plot。 This is a thriller that really stands out for its originality。 If you love a twisty crime thriller, don’t miss this one。 Highly recommend。 4。5/5 。。。more

This was a unique thriller and I think the subject matter was handled so well。 I loved the characters and how the story was told。 However, I do feel some of the details in the storyline was implausible, but Overall I had a great time with this book and highly recommend it。

Disappointing。 Started well。 but quickly lost momentum and became repetitive and unnecessarily convoluted。 The twists such as they were, were visible from a mile off。 The only positive is that the writing is less clunky than a lot of psychological thrillers, so I made it to the end。 Not one I would recommend, but lots of five-star reviews suggest I am in the minority。

This was a solid thriller。 The first 20% of the book completely sucked me in。 I was all in on the mysterious woman on the ledge。 The middle dragged for me a little, but it wasn’t too bad, and I still kept going because I wanted to know what would happen。

Sue Allen

I good revenge mystery。 Poor fella never saw it coming。 Justice served。

My first book won in a GR giveaway! 3。5 stars! The plot was twisty and I loved the short chapters, I just wished it had a little more suspense… something to make my heart race。。。 But it was good and I would still recommend! Also I very much LOVED that it was written by a criminal defense lawyer (and a lot of other aspects researched by professionals in their field) — makes it all the more believable。
